Who are you? What is your speciality?
We are The Garden Path Co., established 1991, located in downtown Castle Rock. We are full service floral design company that offers floral design for weddings, corporate events and full event planning.
What are you passionate about? What do you stand for?
Our “wheelhouse” is creating weddings in natural surroundings. We design for mountain venues, adventure locations and work all over Colorado front range and mountain areas. We spend more than half our time in Vail, Aspen, Estes Park, Summit County, Durango , Crested Butte, Winter Park and the Western part of Colorado–Palisade, etc. On the front range we are at Spruce Mountain, Crooked Willow, The Sanctuary, Cherokee Castle, etc.
Our styling is European design, a technique that is perfect for Colorado- very natural, using seasonal flowers and working with the environment. It is always my goal to listen to the client, understand what their vision is and make it happen. we own a large inventory of vessels and decor. the second tier of importance is good relationships with our fellow vendors for the best and highest results for our clients. the blending of planning, flowers, and decor, along with good relationships within our community makes for a joyful experience for everyone! we tend to attract clients with an appreciation for the natural environment. we love a challenge and a good road trip!! we have done pontoon boat weddings, blizzard weddings, fireworks weddings, ranch weddings, and mountaintop weddings.
When and Why did your business start?
I became a designer by chance. I have an art background and this is a perfect medium for me. I travel a great deal and my first trip to Europe gave me my design esthetic. I have trained with Gregor Lersch in Germany and learned volumes by just watching the floral designers of northern Europe. I have taught floral design as well. I rarely say no to any challenge.
Do you have any advice for newly engaged couples?
My advice to engaged couples is to get a great team, people who listen, create and always have them first. People who do not overbook, and can be nimble for you.
