I’m Lisa with Lovesome Photography. I specialize in mountain weddings in Summit County and the surrounding mountains. I offer customized service for all sizes of weddings from “solo” self solemnizing ceremonies to large, all day events.
I stand for love in all forms. The love you have for your partner, for your friends, for your family. I’m here to document that love shining through each and every couple’s wedding day in whatever form that looks like for them.
My clients are usually adventurer types who also likely have a dog (or two, or three). They love being outdoors and love the mountains here in Colorado. They’re the kind of people who tell me that they want their wedding day to be focused on having a fun & relaxed time where they can really soak in the meaning of the day with those in their lives that they cherish. Some want low key vibes and others tell me they just want to have a big party. Either way I don’t often see them requesting black tie, super formal events for 300+ people!
I started my business in 2006. Throughout working on my photography degree, I had apprenticed with many kinds of photographers and eventually found a wedding photographer to assist. I fell in love with weddings on the very first one I worked. I loved the energy of the day. I loved creating permanent records of those truly joyous moments. I knew I wanted to branch out on my own and after two years, I founded my company in 2006. A year later, in 2007, I went full time with it and haven’t looked back.
Communicate! I know all couples hear this all the time but it’s SO important to communicate with your vendors. While email is so easy this day and age, it’s worth having actual phone calls with your “short list” and even in person meetings with them if you can. You can find out so much more about the people you are working with as opposed to online communication only. You want to make sure you can comfortably talk with them, discuss what is most important to you for the day as well as discuss any potential worries you may have.
As I think about it, most of my guilty pleasures revolve around food. Generally pizza. Often tacos. Always something involving cheese. I love food! My husband and I are super food nerds and you’ll usually walk into our home to find The Food Network on and us experimenting with some new recipe.
My services are fully customizable. I’ve done packages for more than a decade and found people always want to tweak something so I just decided to do hourly rates with customizable a la carte deliverables to fit whatever they want, 100%.
Selfishly, it’s portrait time with my couples. I really love what I do and getting to be one on one with the two getting married is really the core of the day for me. It’s such a fun time to focus in on them, not worry about anything else, and capture the special bond that they have.
While I’m based in an area many people like to come to as a destination, I’m also well versed in doing other types of destination weddings with my clients. I’ve traveled to many different countries for clients including Puerto Rico, Aruba, Mexico, Canada, Germany, South Africa, and India. I’m always more than happy to pack my bags on an adventure to anywhere!
