Who Are You? What Is Your Specialty?
We are Studio Lemus, a group of videographers & photographers based out of Colorado. We specialize in producing emotional, colorful and energetic heirlooms for our couples.
What Are You Passionate About? What Do You Stand For?
Our business is passionate about delivering the most heartfelt product possible. We believe life should be celebrated and that the documentation of that celebration will eventually be what’s left behind for the next generations. Personally what we stand for is the adoption of rescue animals, the LGBT community and the leave no trace initiative.
Who Are Your Clients?
I’ve been asked this so many times and it’s tough because we get a wide variety of couples as a part of our family but generally we end up attracting people that seem to fit into some or all of these categories: You might be a foodie. You probably have a pet. You’re most likely a giver, whether that’s time to a charity or just being a really great friend. You care about your close relationships. You might be quite active. You can be trendy sometimes but don’t always follow the herd. You most likely have some passport stamps.
When And Why Did You Start Your Business?
I started shooting photography in 2002 on film. But fear of being “a starving artist” made me go on to getting a bachelors degree in biomedicine and worked in that field for some time until I realized where my heart really belonged. In 2012 I made the jump and created my business. It started small with just me but in 2015 grew to add videography as well as 2 more full time members, which is where we are today 🙂
What Or Who Inspires You?
Oh holy moly, this has changed over the years! When I started it was fashion ads, especially Dolce & Gabbana… later it was music videos. When I moved to Colorado and delved even more into video it became Warren Miller films. Truly I find inspiration in a lot of places, anywhere from movie framing to Nat Geo galleries to the way they light food sometimes in the 5280 magazine
Do You Have Any Advice For Newly Engaged Couples?
First and foremost, do what you want!! In recent years the rules of weddings have been tossed out the window. If you want a traditional all in open bar till 1am party, do that… if you want a 25 person intimate wedding so you only have to invite the people you love the absolute most, do that… if you want to elope and just get a beer after, do that! Secondly, check what time sunset is on your wedding day and plan accordingly
What Is One Of Your Guilty Pleasures?
Ben & Jerry’s phish food ice cream, Grey’s anatomy and Cirque du Soleil (me and my husband have been to 9 shows).
What Is One Things Newly Engaged Couples Should Know About Your Service?
That we spend a lot of hours with you on wedding day, from getting ready to that last kiss, you may see us more than anyone else so let’s be friends and make it the best day ever!
What Is Your Favorite Part About A Wedding?
What a hard question!! I love a really good belly laugh inducing toast, dads who cry giving away their kids, and the first time a couple looks at each other after the “I Do” kiss… the smiles are usually infectious.
